ACP AWUNI PRESENTS BOOKS TO ADAKURA CLUSTER OF SCHOOLS IN BOLGA


The National Commander of the Motor Transport and Traffic Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Angwubutoge Awuni has implored students from the deprive communities in the country to take education serious and shun negativities that have the tendency of jeopardizing their future, saying education is the only tool they could use to narrow the gap between the poor and rich in society.
He said, children who hails from deprive areas have a huge responsibility to catch up with their counterparts in the cities and urged students and pupil in the area to remain disciplined  and focus by sticking to their books and ensure the pass their examination successfully.
ACP Awuni made these observations during an interview with The Enquirer in his office in Accra, after he had presented over 2,000 exercise and foolscap note books to students and pupils of Adakura cluster of school at Adakura, a surburb of Zuarungu in the Bolgatanga Municipality last week.
The books, he said, cost of GH¢ 4,000 and was made possible through a philanthropist and his personal contribution after realizing the plight of the pupil who he described as alma maters.
ACP Awuni, noted that the donation does not only forms part of his social responsibility of giving back to the society but also to his alma mater, having recognize the need to support the poor and  needy pupil  in deprived communities in the  region.
 He further called for the need for successful citizens who hails from the region to support developmental projects in the communities, more especially in the area of education, saying it was out of education that made him who he is today.
According to the MTTU boss, “ through education, someone like me has got the privilege  and the profound opportunities to raps shoulders with the great and mighty, and no child in this country can be an exception.”
 He encouraged parents to take education of their wards seriously since it is the best legacy they can bequeath their children.
 Education, he stated has the capacity of breaking the shackles’ of poverty, which he noted was the number one enemy thwarting the country’s development.
The donation.  ACP Awuni reiterated, demonstrates his total commitment to the development of education in the school and pledged to extend similar packages to other deprived schools in the area whenever there is an opportunity.
He however, appealed to all well meaning Ghanaians to complement the effort of government by contributing their quota in ensuring that children are given the best education in the country.
