National Security operative at the Supreme Court yesterday arrested a jujuman and another young man suspected to be a fraudster.
The Juju man, identified as Amadu Abdallah was arrested in the early hours
of yesterday when he attempted to enter the Media gallery of the Supreme Court and with talisman and some awful materials
in brown and red colors suspected to be charming substance known in the
local terms as “juju”.
The second suspect was a young man whose names was
not immediately identified at the time of the arrested on suspicion that he was
a fraudster
According to the security operatives, Abdallah
managed to gained access to the media gallery of the court, but his demeanor
and behavior while sitting in the court room raised suspicion and he was
ordered together with journalist to leave the court room for further checking
at the gate.
However, when he was asked to enter through the
security alarm gate, he was rejected three times by the machines therefore made
the security to suspect that he was carrying material that do not allow in the
court.
Following that, Abdallah was arrested and during a
search conducted on him, revealed some materials including a talisman and some
red and brown substance tied together suspected to be “juju” in the
pocket of his smock.
The security said, though Mr. Abdullah in possessed
of one of the accredited special duty identification cards, he failed to tell
the security which agency or department he was coming from.
When the ID card was sent to the Director of
Communication of the Judicial Services, Mrs. Grace Tagoe, she confirmed the
authenticity of the ID Cards, but wondered how Abdullah came into the possessing
of the card.
Abdallah was
later handed over to the police at the court where his statement was taking and
he was asked to the report at the Accra regional CID for further interrogation.
The Communication Director of the judicial services,
according to the security was also asked to assist the police in investigation
on the issue and ensure that ID cards are not issued to persons who are not
under their control or cannot be identified.
In the case of the fraudster, the police said he was
arrested upon his suspicious movement and enquiring of some personalities who
cannot be identified at the court.
According to the police, the young man who was in possessing with several bank ID
Cards was going around the court
premises asking people for some persons names they could not identified.
However, matters became worst for him, when one
police lady identified him as one among some young men who attacked him
sometime ago in attempt to rob or defraud her.
He was therefore taking to the Ministry police
station in Accra for further investigation.
