The Frafra
Sumasum group,
a political youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from Upper
East Region, but residents at Agbogloshie in the Odododiodio Constituency in
the Greater Accra Region has expressed their profound
gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating Dr Ephraim
Avea Nsoh as minister designate for the Upper East Region.
In
a press statement issued in Accra and signed by its organizing Secretary Mr.
Matthew Akamboe,
the group said they had no doubt that Dr Ephraim
Nsoh had the leadership quality, competencies, skills and character that
was needed to drive the development of the region further.
According
to the group Dr Nosh, in his private capacity, had demonstrated self-sacrifice
and commitment for the deprived and vulnerable in the region and also contributed
a lot in the area of human resource development by supporting some children in
their educational advancement.
The group stated that, Dr. Nsoh is a unifier who
talked and proclaimed peace and unity among all the various tribes, political /
religious groups in the region and that they believed his nomination was timely
for the people as he will use his personal relations and skills to find lasting
solution to the protracted chieftaincies issues in the region.
The group
stated that during the recent community disturbance in Vea, a farming community
in the Bongo District, Dr Avea Nsoh played a critical role in averting
bloodshed therefore bringing total calm and peace to the area.
“We the Sumasum group in Accra and the entire people of Upper East Region know that Dr. Nsoh
is the good man for solving problems in the region, especially chieftaincy
disputes, sources to potable drinking water and the provision of health and others
in our communities,” the statement said.
In
the party’s front, the group said the nominee (Dr. Nsoh) has worked hard and
continue to work leading to many elections victories to the party in his
constituency and the region as a whole.
“In
view of his sterling qualities there could not have been a better choice,” the
statement said.
The
youth group said they would do everything possible to give the regional
minister designated and the party the necessary support to enable them to
achieve the Better Ghana Agenda.
The
statement added that the nomination of Dr Avea Nsoh and other ministers so far
by His Excellency is a clear indication of his tenacity and promise to the
formation of a results-oriented team that will effectively see to the apprehension
of the Better Ghana Agenda.
“We
want to assure His Excellency president John Mahama that we the Frafra Sumasum youth
group in Accra and the entire Upper East region solidly support his good
intentions for mother Ghana and will play our part conscientiously to see him
succeed,” the statement said.
