Dr. Naadu Mills Urges Students To Be Morally Upright, As She Launches Ghana First Lady SHS Students Bible Project

The former first lady, Dr. Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills, has appealed to students in Senior High Schools to be disciplined and morally upright at all times and establish personal relationship with God to be able to confront the challenges facing them in live.
"As young person, my own personal encounter with the Bible was significant, and it transformed my life. I therefore urge you to read this New Living Translation (NLT) Bible that I am placing in your hands and obey what it says,” he told the students.
The former first lady made the remarks during a ceremony to launch the first ever ‘Ghana First Lady Senior High School Students Bible Project’ at the Aburi Girls Senior High School in the Eastern Region at the weekend.
Addressing the students, Dr Mrs Mills who is also a former student of the school told  the students to devote themselves to learn about Jesus Christ and develop a personal relationship with Him, for it would be of  profitable to them, adding the Bible is the only book they could gain wisdom and understanding than anywhere else.
According to the former first lady, the Bible as a Holy book has the power to help address many of challenges that the Ghanaians faces, especially inter-tribal and communal conflicts, poverty, diseases, peace and reconciliation as well as developing sound human capital for national development.
She said it has always been her and her late husband Professor John Evans Atta Mills to encourage and inspire Ghana’s High School Students and that it project was to help get 500,000 Bibles into the hands of tomorrow leaders of the country.
For that, she said sometime in July 2009; she paid a visit to Tyndale House Publishers Headquarters in Chicago, USA to publish 500,000 Bible for the project at a market value of Ten Million Ghana cedis (GHC10, 000,000).
 The Bibles will be distributed to all students in Senior High Schools in the ten regions of the country free of charge as a way of encouraging the future leaders to live morally and disciplined.
Mrs. Naadu Mills therefore encouraged the students to use the Bibles continuously for it serve as a personal savior and comforter, adding the Bible is  always a  personal passion and services, especially in time of  pain and pressure.
The project is also supported by the Scripture Union (SU) of Ghana, of which the former first lady is a member.
Vice president Paa Kwasi Amissah-Arthur applauded the former first lady for the initiating the project which he said would help instill moral and discipline in the country Senior High Schools.
He assured her of his personal support to continue with the good work in the country, adding that the project would help reduce the many problems recorded in the country high schools.
The Head Mistress of the Aburi Senior High School, Ms Rosemond Bampo, bemoaned the increasing level of crime  as reported  in the media and challenged students to live up to the expectation.
She also paid a glowing tribute to the former first lady for her selfish less and good leadership style for continued to have the school at heart after she left the school years ago.
Some of the students expressed their warms appreciation to the former first lady for the project and said she served as inspiration to the young ladies in the country, especially those of Aburi Girls School.
